Overview of handgun and firearm safety in the home\, including discussion of access to minors\, locking and storing of firearms\, and use of safety devices\, such as secure lock boxes.\nHandgun Mechanisms and Operation. Overview of the proper operation and safe handling of a handgun\, including cleaning and maintenance\, the loading and unloading of ammunition\, and the differences between revolvers and semi-automatic handguns.\nOperation and Handling Demonstration. Orientation component that demonstrates the person’s safe operation and handling of a firearm\, to include a “live fire” component in which the applicant safely shoots the weapon.\nAn applicant may not be required to fire in excess of 15 yards during qualifications.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCLASS LENGTH: a minimum of 4 hours\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLASS FEE: $150\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSTUDENT REQUIREMENTS:\n\n\n·Students must bring a valid driver’s license or state issued ID to class with them for verification.\n·Students must arrive on time and be present for the entire duration of class.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis class does NOT include LiveScan fingerprints.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Maryland Wear and Carry Class
DESCRIPTION:Wear and Carry Permit training is 16 hours of instruction for an original application and 8 hours of instruction for a renewal application. The approved training is offered by a Qualified Handgun Instructor and will include instruction on state firearm law\, home firearm safety\, handgun mechanisms and operation\, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy. \nDesignated security personnel (security guards\, private detectives\, special police\, and armored car drivers/guards) must shoot a practical police course of at least 50 rounds\, from no further than 25 yards and score at least 70% accuracy. \nAll other applicants must shoot a course of at least 25 rounds\, from no further than 15 yards and score at least 70% accuracy. \nTraining is valid until the permit expiration. However\, you must receive subsequent training within 2 years of submitting your renewal or subsequent application.
